This Costa Rica neighborhood consists of a few Americans, a
former German ambassador and middle income Costa
Rica families.
The area provides shops for all the basic needs of
daily living. There are a couple of fresh fruit
and vegetable markets with great prices.
Every Saturday morning, is a large fresh market in
downtown San Jose, only a 10 minute drive. A block
away is one of several local ferreterias
(hardware stores) which offer a wide range of building
materials, paint and higher end products.
Local walking distance restaurants includes Tico
cuisine, Chinese, Pizza, and popular pollo a la lena
(roast chicken), McDonalds and other fast food
restaurant. In a few more minutes, you can enjoy fine
dining.
Health Care: There are several physicians, both
general practitioners, specialists and dentists
in Desamperados and nearby San Sebastian. The
excellent English spoken Clinical Biblica Hospital
is a 5 minute drive away, next to a host of other professional
health care specialists.
